The present CD release of the 1957 La Scala Anna Bolena is the first performance to be released using sound sources from the BJR collection. The CD edition is based on reel-to-reel master tapes used for the BJR LP release, as well as on the original (unprocessed) reel-to-reel tape BJR had received from Italy.
